Stranded / Ghost Rider

Two projects I'm involved with slipped out this week while I was busy dealing with life.

THE STRANDED is the first of the new Virgin/SciFi line, and the first comic I've edited in more than five years. It's been a fascinating process, and I'm VERY happy with the result. THE STRANDED is the brainchild of writer/creator Mike Carey, who describes it here better than I could. Basically, it's the tale of a group of alien refugees planted on Earth with false memories...but when something comes to kill them, they must face the reality that their entire lives have been a lie.

SciFi, which has big hopes for this one, has launched a site devoted to it and to the upcoming titles in the line. The site is bare bones so far, but watch for it to grow soon.

Here's a sample page from THE STRANDED:

And then there's...

GHOST RIDER VOLUME 3: APOCALYPSE SOON features last year's GHOST RIDER ANNUAL by me and Ben Oliver, along with two stories from the regular book by Daniel Way and his crew. My story introduces the enigmatic Mister Eleven, a being trapped between...well, you'll have to read it to find out. I will say the story worked out nicely, both as a stand-alone character piece and as a part of the larger GHOST RIDER saga.

(The book also features a big battle with the Hulk. And you can't beat a big battle with the Hulk.)

Here's the Amazon page -- which, unfortunately, has the plot description for the next volume by mistake.

More soon...

Hey! Are these comics kid-friendly? I know Danny's not yet 4-1/2, but he's already gotten his first superhero comic book (Spider Girl, sorry).

Hope all is well.

Hey Curt! Let's see...of my recent work, REDWALL and NEW AVENGERS/TRANSFORMERS (which will be collected in one volume in February) are definitely kid-friendly. THE STRANDED has some blood, but is probably okay; GHOST RIDER is not. Everything else varies...EARTHLIGHT is definitely teens-and-up, especially the upcoming third volume.

We should catch up soon...
